We, the EPP Women strongly condemn the sexist verbal attack by Socialist Chair Taulant Balla directed at our Vice President, Albana Vokshi, during the recent plenary session of the Albanian Parliament suggesting her number is “0900” -reference to a sex hotline!<\/p>\n
Sexist remarks and personal humiliation have no place in democratic institutions. The failure to address this incident during the session is unacceptable.<\/p>\n
We stand in full solidarity with our Vice President and call on all political actors, particularly those of the governing majority, to refrain from language and behaviour that violate the dignity and rights of women.<\/p>\n
Respect and zero tolerance for sexism must guide our political institutions!<\/p>\n
